Just about every weekend throughout the summer there will be a village fete, fair or summer party somewhere in the Cotswolds. Some are on village greens, some are in the grounds of cotswold manor houses like Sezincote or Kelmscott.

The 2010 season will include productions of Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly and Die Walkurie as well as several other special evenings.

Award-winning Scottish artists will be spending some leisure time in the Cotswolds this summer – in the form of Red Rag’s annual Summer Exhibition of Scottish Art at the Red Rag Gallery in Stow on the Wold

The show will include still life (Frank Colcough, Emma Davis, Liz Knox), figure painting (Damian Callan, Denise Findlay, Sophie McKay-Knight and Ian McWhinnie) and a variety of interpretations of landscapes, townscapes and seascapes, both of Scotland and elsewhere (including for instance, the work of Mary Batchelor, George Birrell, Marion Thomson and Tom Watt).

The Guiting Festival features classical music and jazz and for 39 years has been a highspot of the calendar in the beautiful Cotswold village of Guiting Power, near Stow-on-the-Wold.

Stow on the Wold Farmers' Market is normally held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9am until 1pm. The market is held in the square around the green where the Old Stocks are located.

The market boasts a wide range of local produce, including cheeses, trout, vegetables, wines, free-range eggs, apple juices and ciders, bread, pastries and locally reared meats
